What would the founding fathers and Rushmore presidents be thinking as the USA makes it to a 250 year anniversary with nary a mention of the Declaration of Independence?
Of the illustrious five, Abraham Lincoln would undoubtedly have been the most hostile to the present grifting, anti-democratic White House.
To start at the beginning:
Thomas Jefferson Born 13 April 1743 Virginia, no birth time. He was a Sun Aries in a reforming, freedom-loving square to Uranus in Capricorn. His Sun was in a dynamic and sensible trine to Mars and Saturn in Leo and possibly trine an Aries Moon for an inspirational Fire Grand Trine. With an intense Pluto opposition Venus square Mars in Leo.
His Cardinal Sun square Uranus will be under discouraging tr Saturn hard aspects in 2027; with his cherished dream from Neptune in Cancer sagging this year with Saturn in square. Plus tr Uranus upending his Saturn Jupiter through the winter and this year, will be unnerving.
DT’s Mars in Leo clashes badly with TJ’s Saturn and DT’s Pluto with TJ’s Mars for a hostile chemistry. With DT’s Saturn Venus opposing TJ’s Uranus and square his Sun – chilly in the extreme. Their relationship chart has a differing-agenda composite Sun square Uranus.
George Washington, 22 February 1732 10 am Viginia, a freedom-loving Sun Pisces square Uranus; with Uranus in an inventive opposition to Neptune, a determined Mars in Scorpio and a super-confident Jupiter Pluto conjunction. His ‘ghost’ chart is edgy and unnerved at the moment.
His Mars clashes with DT’s Mars and his Mercury in Aquarius opposes DT’s behind-the-scenes power game 12th house Pluto. DT’s Uranus also triggers his Neptune.
Benjamin Franklin, 17 January 1706 10.30 Am Boston, MA, was a Capricorn Sun in an expansive opposition to Jupiter; with an inspirational, ambitious and determined Fire Grand Trine of Mars in Sagittarius trine Neptune trine Pluto. His Saturn in Taurus is on the focal point of a Fixed T Square to Mercury opposition Uranus – giving him executive ability and a reforming streak.
His Mars in Sagittarius clashes with DT’s Gemini Sun Uranus and Moon. DT’s Saturn Venus in Cancer clashes with his Sun opposition Jupiter for a depressing effect.
Abraham Lincoln, 12 February 1809 6.54 am Kentucky, was a Sun Aquarius trine Mars in Libra with a late Capricorn Moon and a hope-for-a-better-society Saturn Neptune conjunction. That last is being upended at the moment by tr Uranus opposition Saturn this year and Neptune in 2027. His Aquarius Sun clashes with DT’s bombastic Mars in Leo; and his Capricorn Moon and Mars in Libra collides with DT’s Venus Saturn conjunction. His Pluto is in an unbudgeable square to DT’s Mars.
The relationship chart with DT is toxic and hostile with a composite Saturn Mars trine Pluto.
Franklin D Roosevelt, 30 January 1882 8.45pm New York, a Sun Venus in Aquarius with a stellium in earthy Taurus – with hope-for-a-better-society Saturn Neptune conjunct an idealistic Neptune and a late Pluto in Taurus. With Mercury in late Aquarius in a straight-speaking trine to Mars in Gemini. His chart looks more pressured in 2027 though the past year will also have caused unease with tr Saturn Neptune square his Mars through last winter.
His Sun Venus square Saturn Neptune clashes with DT’s 12th house Pluto; and his Uranus with DT’s Full Moon Uranus – at cross purposes.
Odd thoughts – Trump’s 12th house Pluto, hinting at nefarious deals out of sight, understandably sets up various clashes above, as does his narcissistic and blowhard Mars in Leo. But I am intrigued by his Venus Saturn conjunct in Cancer also causing friction. The standard meanings are of an emotional woundedness, feeling unloved, escaping into sexual overdrive to escape feelings, but beyond that there seems to be another meaning that escapes me. Also the natal Uranus aspects above in the early reformers appears to work in a different way to Trump’s defiant, lawless, careless of convention Uranus.
Overall the founding fathers and later notables must be looking askance at cage fighting on the lawn which is the least of the woes at present but fairly representative of the crass state of affairs.
Thomas Jefferson quotes:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal… Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
“Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.”
“When angry, count ten before you speak; if very angry, a hundred.”
“I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country.”
“Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.”
“Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances.”
“A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.”
“Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.”

Venus Saturn in Cancer may be someone who finds it difficult to care – who builds up such an indulgent carapace around themselves for security that they trap themselves in.
