US Fed Res Bank – new captain faces storm ahead

Kevin Warsh has been confirmed by the US Senate as chair of the Federal Reserve, one of the most powerful roles in the federal government that holds enormous sway over the economy.

At a 54-45 Senate vote it was most divisive confirmation vote for the position in history. He will officially step into the role on 14 May, when the term of outgoing Fed chair, Jerome Powell ends, taking over as the central bank faces immense pressure from the Trump administration to lower rates, even as inflation climbs and war in the Middle East continues.  Analysts say he faces “a hellishly difficult task” to protect the independence of the Bank from political pressure.

Born 13 April 1970 in New York,  he has a determined though stressed Sun Aries inconjunct Pluto which in turn is trine a redoubtable Mars in Taurus. He also has an up-and-down Jupiter in Scorpio opposition Saturn in Taurus with Mercury Venus also in Taurus. Plus an edgy Uranus inconjunct Saturn. A Taurus stellium will suit him for a financial career and he’ll certainly be stubborn. But he’ll find problems settling into a steady direction with two central inconjuncts.

He is an odd playmate for Trump since KW’s Pluto squares DT’s Sun and Moon so he may resist some of the pressure; KW’s Uranus is conjunct DT’s Neptune and square his Mercury for miscommunications; KW’s Saturn squares DT’s Pluto for cooperation on major issues but also given to obduracy on both sides; and KW’s Mars squares DT’s Mars and sits on DT’s Midheaven which could help him progress Trump’s ambitions but it could just as easily turn competitive.

Their relationship chart has an unstable composite Sun inconjunct an enthusiastic Jupiter and is showing signs of disturbance through early this June and again mid December to spring 2027 as tr Uranus squares the composite Pluto. Plus a phase of panicky confusion August to late December this year with tr Pluto square the composite Neptune.

The US Federal Reserve chart, 16 November 1914 9am Washington, DC, is in a worrisome droop at the moment with the SA Neptune exactly conjunct the Sun; with jolting shocks and insecurity mid June to early July and again late this year with tr Uranus square the Mars. With a final disappointing and disorientating tr Neptune square the Saturn Pluto early November 2026 to late January 2027. Major arguments will brew through 2027/28 with tr Pluto square the Mercury and Moon.

  1. Further to prior posts on the US Federal Reserve, an interpolation from C-Span videos and Trump’s schedule for Friday, May 22, 2025, puts the swearing in of Kevin Warsh as Fed Chair about 12:10 pm, Washington. The event start time was scheduled for 11:45 am. The actual swearing in took place after Trump’s fairly lengthy remarks.

The event’s Sun at 1 Gemini 35′ is precisely conjunct Uranus at the MC (18 Taurus) in the 10th. Ceres at 27 Taurus exactly opposes Lilith in the 4th at 27 Scorpio. Mercury at 11 Gemini in the 10th is sextile Saturn at 11 Aries in the 8th. Saturn, normally deliberate and cautious, is in its detriment, being ruled by impulsive Mars. Saturn remains in Aries until April 2028, prior to the next presidential elections.

Neptune at 3 Aries 52′ in the 8th is semi-sextile Mars at 2 Gemini 49′ in the 6th of foreign relations. Neptune is also square Venus at 4 Cancer in the 11th of associates (Congress etc.). Venus is at the (often unfortunate) degree of the Nodes, at 4 Virgo/Pisces, with the NN in the 7th. Venus is also inconjunct Pluto Rx at 5 Aquarius in the 6th.

Venus’ central position is appropriate for an appointment relating to the Fed’s function of regulating interest rates. Also the US treasury is key and it is indicated by the event chart’s Neptune in the 8th (other people’s money). Neptune recently changed signs, no longer being in the sign it rules, Pisces, but now in proactive Aries. Thus Neptune is subject to the rulership of Aries, i.e. Mars. Mars is presently in Taurus (action motivated by wealth) in the 9th and is in its detriment in fixed sign Taurus. This indicates obstacles to the direct path Mars would like to follow.

The swearing-in Moon is rising at 21 Leo above the Ascendant (24 Leo), closely trine Trump’s Moon, 21 Sagittarius, ruled in turn by his Jupiter in Libra. The event’s Jupiter in Cancer is on the cusp of the 12th house and is ruled by the Leo Moon. It is about to go into hiding in the secretive, institutional 12th house, as well as soon changing signs into Leo. The swearing-in Jupiter has no aspects apart from a weak semi-sextile to the Moon (the people), which indicates it is not working in an effective fashion. It remains in Leo from July 1, 2026 until late July 2027.

Approximately a month from now, on July 11, 2026, all 3 outer planets will be at 4 degrees (Gemini, Aries, Aquarius) and at the degree of the Nodes of Warsh’s swearing in. It will be interesting to see if there is an event that affects his work at that time. The swearing in chart’s Leo Moon opposes US natal Moon in Aquarius (using any of the US natal charts) and closely sextiles US natal Mars at 21 Gemini. Overall, it appears the Fed will be leaning in Trump’s direction for the foreseeable future under Warsh’s leadership, but events may trigger changes in their relationship.

      • You are most welcome. Warsh, imo, will be a significant figure not only because he is one of Trump’s “chosen”, but because the square you reference points to serious conditions the Fed will need to address in future. At least Warsh is amply qualified on a technical level (per Wikipedia), though who knows which way he will take things when the weather gets rough for the ship of state.

  2. According to C-Span, the US Senate confirmed Kevin Warsh’s nomination at 02:46:48 PM on May 13, 2026 with a 54 to 45 vote. The nomination next goes to President Trump for signature on Friday, May 22 (time not yet available), after which Warsh takes office.

    • Got time?
This is what I had gathered off the Internet. The official swearing in time is 11am.
News from CNBC was first posted at 10:48am Edt then edited after 12pm.
Video had President Trump gave a speech and at about 24 minutes mark, Warsh was invited onto stage.

  3. Wash spent time trying to get this job last year only to come in to rising inflation. What a case of wrong time wrong place.

  4. Oh, I really feel pity for Kevin Warsh, he took the job at the wrong time. There is no way he will be able to cut interest rates, and it is a primary reason he got the job. Inflation is too high, he must actually increase interest rates once he takes over. His boss Donald Trump doesn’t understand the economy, he will expect him to draw blood from a stone, to perform the impossible. Sadly I don’t see him lasting in his new job. I only see more clashes, and attacks from Trump.
