Sweden, unlike most countries, has not closed its borders, schools, non-essential businesses or banned gatherings of people. They have instead adopted voluntary, softer measures to delay the spread of the virus. Its approach, spearheaded by epidemiologist Anders Tegnell, has come in for criticism both internally and elsewhere. More stringent measures will be put in place if there is a sharp increase in cases. At present Sweden has 3,700 confirmed cases with 110 deaths, low compared to other countries.

This will test the country’s confidence.
The June Solar Eclipse will elbow the Sweden Uranus in Cancer hinting at a shock and need for a change of approach. Plus there will be a jolting, change-direction tr Uranus opposition the Sweden Saturn in Scorpio starting late May and running on and off into early 2021. No matter what the final numbers are the country along with everyone else globally will take a financial hit.
Anders Tegnell, 17 April 1956, has a super-confident and uber-determined chart with a pro-active Aries Sun in a visionary though can-be impractical opposition to Neptune and trine a might-makes-right Jupiter Pluto in Leo. His Saturn in self-righteous Sagittarius is in an unyielding and obstinate square to Pluto; his Mars in contrary Aquarius squares a stubborn Mercury in Taurus and his Sun. And last but not least his Neptune is in a can-be fanatical square to Uranus. He’ll be pretty impervious to feedback or viewpoints which are different.
Tr Saturn in Aquarius will conjunct his Mars for a car-crash setback from April 6th to mid June which may cause him to rethink his strategy. Tr Saturn back in Capricorn will starting colliding with his Neptune and Uranus from early July till late year; and his Solar Arc Sun will almost certainly catch the June Cancer Solar Eclipse for a crisis and forced change.

Yep I know what you mean about that Mars in Aquarius Marjorie have friends and relatives with it and boy are they off the wall at times.
Sweden is introducing some new policies, as of today. There were 59 deaths in 24 hours in Monday. This, scaled to population, is a worrying number.
But SVT, Swedish Public Broadcasting system, now tells there are Covid-19 cases in one third (!) or 29 nursing homes in Stockholm area. This was enough for Government to come out and discourage visits. Which is of course too little too late. And there’s Tegnell, cool as cucumber telling how this is “tragic”, in TV. But this is truly a sign that his strategy failed: It’s not possible to protect the most vulnerable by letting the epidemic ravage the general population.

My husband has Mars in Aquarius (as did a couple of my previous beaus, this is a midpoint thing), and you are not wrong. 😀 In my husband’s case, he has some mitigating influences, and he has found a way to make this work for him in professional world. I sure hope we do not have to institute a full blown curfew here, though, because he’d be insufferable in the house 24/7.
My mother has Mars and Mercury in Aquarius and can never be in the wrong. Also dogmatically ‘alternative’ at times – she used to be into UFOs. It drives my sister and I mad.
Thank you Marjorie. I really appreciate this. Not going to make any other comments now because I need to think about it first. Other than to say that Sweden will always suffer in a recession as the economy is driven by recession affected exports. The country’s economists know this and were preparing for a slump anyway. But not a crisis of this magnitude
What’s really staggering in this economic approach is that there is plenty of historic evidence that early, extensive quarantine measures have lead to a faster economic recovery during Spanish Flu and even SARS epidemic. I think this is a confidence issue. Italian Authorities were late at reacting to the initial spread, and had to take very harsh measures. But now, 3 weeks on, it seems these measures are working, and they can insinuate “opening for business” starting after Easter. I think this will be good for economic recovery, because the fact they beat this once gives others confidence they can do it again.
