I’m doubtful Radacanu ever gets it together. Having listened to her speak at press conferences she never takes ownership for the problems – and she’s been through about ten coaches since winning the US Open five years ago. I always put that lack of ownership down to the Pisces moon; but now I wonder if it is the defensiveness of her fixed signs T-square.
I think also with Saturn in Gemini and Pluto in Sag they are stubborn planets and may be taking away some of the mutable flexibility. She always talks about wanting to remain positive and needing positive people around her – which to me is another indication that she isn’t accepting the truth of her situation and any difficult feelings. That’s the fundamental problem for Pisces placements – they have the ability to feel both the highs and lows but if you want to run from the lows then you end up with escapism, victimhood and blaming others. Possibly the Sag Pluto squares her moon and accentuates this need for positivity.
Her parents have been described as pushy and ambitious; apparently they separated some years ago. But I’m not surprised that at least her dad is Pluto in Virgo helicopter parent (born Oct 1966 – Companies House) but can’t find a date for mother. She describes her mother as her best friend. I suspect she needs to cut the apron strings – or as GenZ now call it “go no contact with them”! I’m not sure her Pisces Moon will ever allow that though

Good point. I don’t think peaking at such a young age is always desirable. Not just in sports, but in other fields too. It means that you feel that awful pressure to live up to your early successes.
Caroline – Took me a long time to realise that the watery placements in my chart had made it difficult to define myself as a younger person – I was always aligning myself with what my best friend thought was great or what I thought would impress others. Emma, with her Scorpio Sun/Mercury/Venus and the Pisces moon may well be prone to the same difficulty which is why I think she is overly influenced by her parents – a quick look at her dad’s October 1966 chart has his Scorpio Neptune sat directly on her Sun/Mercury – so not only is she fixed in her thinking because it’s in Scorpio and combust but he’s probably handed down distorted views.
VF – you may be right about that and her Pisces Moon/Scorpio planets are probably hypersensitive to what is being expected of her. And the pressure to live up to success is even more of a goldfish bowl in sport where the British media have always built people up to then knock them down. I don’t think all the chopping and changing of coaches does her any good in that respect; just makes it easier for them to find something to criticise
Pisces / Neptune types are often sponge-like impressionable. Emma is young and also an ‘only child’, so likely experienced a relatively insular upbringing shielded from the typical teenage distractions (given her early tennis glory and straight A student status).
Good to see she’s dating now and spreading her wings a bit.
