Sam Neill regarded as one of the most versatile actors of his generation has died aged 78. His five decade career spanned independent films and blockbusters, including the Jurassic Park film series and television drama.
He was born on 14 September 1947 in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, no birth time, with an English mother and a New Zealand father and the family relocated to NZ when he was seven.
He had several relationships, three children one of whom was adopted early on and reunited 25 years later.
He had a New Moon in Virgo conjunct Venus on the midpoint of a mini-Grand Trine of Mars in Cancer trine Jupiter in Scorpio – hard working, high-vitality, enthusiastic and lucky.

In his book Did I Ever Tell You This Sam Neill revealed that he was fighting a rare blood cancer, angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, but at the time of his death it was reported that he was cancer free.
He dated Australian political journalist Laura Tingle from 2018 to 2021, but the demands of their lifestyles, he as an actor and her as a busy national journalist was the main reason, according to reports, why the relationship ended and, again according to reports, on good terms. Laura has posted a loving tribute to him, revealing private photos of their time together.
I noticed his Mercury at 4Lib in opposition to transiting Neptune in Aries at 4 degs, and in a trine with transiting Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, both at 4 degs. Transiting Jupiter has yet to join the 4 degs party of the outer planets.
He was a charming man with a wonderful droll sense of humour. RIP.
