Sounds positively Muslim or Orthodox Jewish and relegates female colleagues to a special category of – dangerous/predatory? And discounts the possibility of male male dinners ever being sexually motivated or misunderstood for outsiders. So back to the old Adam and temptress Eve; women defined by their sexuality. One of these days someone will explain to me why religious zealots are incapable of regarding people as human beings, whose gender is irrelevant the bulk of the time, especially in the professions.
His marriage does appear to be a tight working relationship. A Trump adviser said “You can’t get a dime between them.” He evidently calls his wife ‘Mother’.
Pence, 7 June 1959, is a Sun, maybe New Moon, in Gemini (or Moon in Cancer) with his Moon in whichever sign certainly square Pluto – so a possessive wife/mother would fit his pattern. He is just being sensible. Think of your own Dad being alone in a restaurant with a woman who is not his wife. Does not look right does it?
Maybe he’s so prone to temptation – in that easily distractible Gemini way – that he has to impose severe restraints on himself. Like alcoholics who never, ever let themselves have one drink, even socially.

Makes no sense to me. I’m entirely faithful to my wife and I don’t need to hide from every other woman on the planet to be so. Seems like he doesn’t trust himself?

I totally agree with Al. As a woman who voted for Hilary, I would appreciate that type of loyalty and deep down, I bet Hilary would have appreciated it, too. Living in DC, I also find the ads that NARAL and NOW run on TV telling me what I’m supposed to be think and feel as a woman very manipulative and controlling of women. In fact, many of these groups are just as crazy and manipulative as the NRA telling men who hunt that their freedom will be taken away. We have crazy manipulators on both sides. The subtle underlying suggestion of these supposedly pro-women groups is that all birth control, including abortion, is the woman’s responsibility and not a man’s. These groups even went crazy over the appointment of David Souter to the Supreme Court.
When Paul McCartney said he never spent a night away from his wife Linda, he also made a point of telling the world. Doesn’t seem he’s subjected to the same criticism. For McCartney and Pence who are both Geminis, it’s really quite ironic, but you know they’ve found love, and you should be happy for them.

The problem with Pence sick position is that it is sexist. He can dine professionally with other men, but professional women would be left out of the equation. Women just want to discuss business, we aren’t interested in him personally.

Why must the media continue to slam those who have found their ideal method of relating with one another. Frankly, I find it honorable that a married man with status and power, would put his spouse and family above all else by ensuring the slightest hint of disloyalty is quelled. Kudos to Mike for never allowing his wife to ever doubt his devotion to her. I’m sure there a many women who would appreciate such loyalty. Since when has it become disgraceful for a married couple to be devoted, honest and faithful to one another????
There is loyalty which many women, and men, hold with high esteem from a partner. Then there is that thing called control, when the unevolved male and his expectation of a woman is projected on to the female masses who are affected by his backwards thinking, and thus damaged by his cruel misogynistic views. Most Western women don’t live in or come from his background. They are being forced to fit into his warped ideology of what it means to be a woman in HIS WORLD. That’s when men like him who are in positions of power, are a HUGE problem.
Also, to add to this, when somebody is ADAMANT in showing the world that they are whiter than white and being aggressive in underlining this, it usually means they are anything but…
