Keir Starmer – another PM bites the dust

Keir Starmer resigned this morning, starting his speech at 9.33am which gives an 11 degree Taurus Midheaven exactly conjunct the UK’s 8th house Mars; and an Ascendant of 23 Leo conjunct the UK’s 11th house ( = the legislature) Saturn. Time will tell exactly what transpires but that looks to be shaking the UK at a deep level – with financial implications since the bond markets will not take kindly to a spending splurge on welfare and privatisation adding to the already massive debt pile.

The astrology was classic with tr Pluto exactly square his Leadership Uranus – 4 April 2020 10.45 am – which is de-stabilising and has anyway been under massive pressure since Pluto moved into Aquarius.

His own personal chart has tr Pluto conjunct his Saturn which is on the focal point of a yod inconjunct Mars sextile Sun Pluto – so force majeure he was always going to be shifted (under great pressure) onto a different trajectory.

Tr Uranus will square his Jupiter and Sun Pluto in Virgo in 2027 which should produce a lucky break or two and more change.

With no challenges to his leadership bid Burnham will step into his shoes relatively quickly. Of which more anon.

  1. Neptune in a long running opposition to Starmer’s Mercury has made it impossible for him to cut through and be heard. But I am a little baffled by the rush to replace Starmer with Burnham. If Burnham was some kind of ultra charismatic leader who could sway voters out of their social media silos, then sure, bring it on. But watching his hesitant speaking and interview performances recently gives me pause about the whole thing.

  2. Resignation chart aside, it’s telling that my bus journey home today was filled with talk of the heatwave rather than the PM’s departure.
Virgos love flying under the radar. The distinct lack of fuss feels entirely Virgo.

  3. It is going to be interesting, Kemi and Burnham, both Capricorns, having a go at each other. And their natal mars in opposition to the other.

  4. The synastry between the Starmer resignation chart and the UK national chart looks very challenging. It suggests something beginning for the nation that involves restructuring, limitations and responsibilities requiring patience and perseverance. Saturn is in the 11th House of the national chart so it is a challenge to the legislature to behave responsibly something British MPs have been reluctant to do recently. The MC on the UKs difficult 8th House indicates the nation faces a volatile time where the government is forced to act to transform the country’s finances. This will likely result in public opposition and conflict.

The Moon in Libra had crossed the UK 1801 Uranus in the preceding 24 hours. It is in the 2nd House of the resignation chart so shifts in the publics attitude to national finances and resources look possible, particularly those involved with maintaining the basics of life (food, energy, water etc). The 2nd House Moon opposes an 8th House Neptune in Aries signifying potential recklessness, confusion, deception and possible scandal over the handling of public assets and debt.

The resignation North Node conjunct the UK Saturn indicates an opportunity for growth but only if the government and the people are prepared to do the hard yards required to achieve it.

The resignation chart synastry to the UK chart echoes aspects of Burnham’s own chart where the 2nd and 8th House associations are provided by the Saturn in Taurus opposition to Jupiter in Scorpio. In addition the resignation Moon in Libra echoes its position in the Burnham/UK 1801 composite chart which had a Moon opposition Mars square Sun.

    • Apologies. The resignation Saturn was conjunct the UK North Node not the other way round. The need for the nation to ground its life with discipline and structure remains the same. It is the 9th House so it suggests a need to give up dogmatic or easy ideas for an understanding based on hard reality. It looks as though it could particularly impact legal processes, organised religion and higher education.

    • Thanks Hugh. “In addition the resignation Moon in Libra echoes its position in the Burnham/UK 1801 composite chart which had a Moon opposition Mars square Sun”. Interestingly the resignation Moon in Libra is actually exactly conjunct Uranus in the Burnham/UK 1801 composite chart to reflect the sudden change.

    • Thanks, Hugh. I didn’t think Starmer would sur7that stationary Pluto on his natal Saturn. This is the 7th PM in a decade. We’re becoming like Italy used to be.
