John Bolton – going but not quietly

There will be few tears shed as uber hawk John Bolton is trash-canned as Trump’s National Security Adviser. Bolton says he resigned and Trump says he fired him – watch this space since Bolton is not known for his discretion. The recent Taliban Camp David peace talk debacle appears to have been the final straw after a run of disagreements over Trump’s non-interventionist, placatory policies towards North Korea, Russia and Iran.

It was never going to be an easy mix with Bolton’s Scorpio Sun in an argumentative square to Trump’s Mars; and Bolton’s explosive and volatile Mars in Sagittarius opposition Uranus falling across Trump’s Moon and Sun.

Their relationship chart has a friendly enough composite Sun, Venus, Mercury conjunction; but also a disruptive, Mars trine Uranus. There’s nothing much, without Bolton’s birth time, affecting the relationship chart so it must be hitting the axis.

Bolton’s Term chart in the job always did look over stressed and prone to self-destruct with a composite Saturn Mars and Mars conjunct Pluto square the Sun and trine Venus – it was never going to be peace and harmony.

What is obvious from the astrology is that Trump’s relationship with Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Defence, will go into an even more unstable phase than Trump/Bolton from late this December and through 2020 as tr Uranus returns to conjunct the composite Venus and then conjunct Saturn and oppose Mars just before mid 2020 onwards. That looks like serious rock n’ roll time, perhaps exacerbated by outside events. Iran and Russia look to be Pompeo hot spots.

  1. Solaia – I had forgotten about Trump’s fascination for the Nobel prize. Not only the attempt to toast marshmallows at Camp David with the Taliban but cooling down Little Rocket Man with his launching of rockets and projectiles.

    • It’s like the decider on the Nobel committee in 2009 traveled forward in time ten years, then returned back to 2009 to give Obama one for being sane.

  2. Now it’s come out that Bolton was the one who revealed Trump’s idea to nuke the hurricane, and the resulting mockery of Trump is what caused Bolton’s firing. Bolton is being slammed on Fox news as a liberal lefty.

With a horoscope like Bolton’s, he will not slide quietly into the shadows with a “liberal” label stuck on his forehead.

  3. Apparently, the word in Washington is Trump intends to elevate Pompeo to a double role of both Secretary of State and National Security Advisor. This would make Pompeo literally the most powerful Sec of State since Henry Kissinger. It could be a “kiss of death” with Trump, but I somehow feel Pompeo is one of the very few people at Trump Administration or Republican Party for that matter who are seeing “post-Trump”.

    • Worth to note, Pompeo is relatively young for an old white guy, in his mid-50’s. Many heavyweights at Trump Administration have been well into their 60’s and 70’s. They would be done by 2024. Trump muses with establishing a dynasty, but those of his children who will be 35 by then are lightweight (yes, even Ivanka) and will be easily deflated by more serioua contenders.

      • Pompeo has tr Jupiter Saturn in Aquarius just crossing his midheaven for the 2021 Inauguration; and tr Pluto conjunct his MC for the 2024 – though latter looks less likely.

        • That Pluto /MC is scary, because I find Pompeo scary (much more so than let’s say Pence), and that would resonate with Pompeo’s ambition. I read Margaret Atwood’s “Testaments” on one sitting Tuesday night. Not spoiling too much, but novel’s main antagonist, Commander Judd, is one of the few remaining original Sons of Jacob and alluded to have been influential pre-Gilead. He seems like a collection of Tea Party / alt-right politicians, physical description might be all Steve Bannon, but there is some Pompeo in the mix.

  4. O/T actually but I think that it’s interesting to note, for me anyway, lol, that Trump’s former acting Secretary of Defence Keith Kellog’s maternal grandmother came from Johnstone, Scotland (related to my husband). It’s a fabulous rags to billionaire riches story and a shame that the ins and outs of her (and others) journey through life never see the light of day.

I’m surprised Pompeo has lasted this long. His chart is one of the most ambitious ones I’ve seen among Trump Administration, and ambition will eventually not go unnoticed and unpunished by Trump. He much prefers malleable, mutable personalities.

Some say Bolton too was ultimately let down by his dogmatic views on Iran. Trump really wants that Nobel prize, as demonstrated by his willingness to bring Taleban to Camp David, of all places, and now warming up to Iran. Expect even more outrageous stunts, given he is now running out of time (14 months till 2020 Election Day) and I guess he understands, deep down, nobody will be asking him to play Jimmy Carter once he is out of the office.
