Harris, Warren, Klobuchar, Gillibrand – testing the water for 2020

Four more possibles for 2020 – Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand and Amy Klobuchar.

California Senator and former state attorney Kamala Harris, born 20 October 1964 9.28pm Oakland, California, is picking up favourable media attention at the moment but there’s a troubling piece in the NY Times questioning her legend as a progressive, pointing out she did little to act for criminal justice reform and fought to uphold wrongful convictions that had been secured through official misconduct including evidence tampering, false testimony and the suppression of crucial information by prosecutors. (URL below)

She has an entertainer’s, attention-seeking 5th house Libra Sun opposition an Aries Moon; with a Fixed Grand Cross of Saturn in Aquarius opposition Mars in Leo square Jupiter in Taurus opposition Neptune – hard-edged, slippery, indulgent, opportunistic. She looks frustrated and trapped in November 2020 with tr Pluto opposition her Mars/North Node; but does have tr Pluto trine her Jupiter throughout 2020 and over the inauguration which will give her a confidence and success boost.

Elizabeth Warren 22 June 1949 (unverified time), is an innovative Sun Uranus in Cancer sextile Saturn inconjunct Jupiter in Aquarius. That apex Yod Jupiter will give her the ability to affect mass consciousness and the tr Saturn Jupiter in Aquarius will conjunct her Jupiter through December 2020, so while there’s nothing to suggest she either runs or wins, she may well be in a position to make her mark in another way.

Amy Klobuchar, 25 May 1960 Plymouth, Minnesota, Senator and lawyer, is a determined and controlled New Moon Mercury in Gemini square Pluto; with Jupiter in Capricorn in a confident trine to Pluto and sextile Neptune; and a hard-edged Saturn in Capricorn square Mars. She looks disappointed in 2019/2020 with plans not working out, and undermined through November 2020. But seems remarkably buoyant over the Inauguration.

Kirsten Gillibrand, 9 December 1966 New York, Senator and attorney, is a Sun Sagittarius with an excitable and scattered T Square of Saturn in Pisces opposition Uranus Pluto square Venus in Sagittarius; and an intense Scorpio Moon. She’s got an undermining Neptune squaring her Sun through 2019 into 2020 which looks less than helpful ambition-wise and will be aggravated and frustrated over the Inauguration.

  1. Over the 2020 election Kamala’s Jupiter will be trined by both Pluto and Jupiter and because she was born on a full moon Saturn is squaring both her Sun and Moon. In her natal, Saturn conjunction her MH so she may do very well with the Saturn square to her Sun and Moon because she likely works hard and reap some of his rewards. In the Sibley chart Ceres will be conjuncting the USA Moon and making lots of trines to Kamala’s chart. I’m cautiously heartened.

  2. Marjorie,

Thanks for writing about this. Kamala Harris just announced today that she’s running. My Mother and I are leaning towards Kamala Harris for 2020.

  3. With all that Trump’s done and continues to do, that NYT’s article, will soon evaporate and be forgotten. The NYT have so much to answer for. Especially the way they went about the Hillary Clinton’s email debacle, where her emails became a focus over a Manchurian candidate installed as Putin’s Puppet.

I have a good feeling about Kamala Harris, she’s the most likeable and most eloquent out of all these. Don’t forget she’s also seeped into public consciousness because all her performances through all the senate hearings last year. My guess is the young voters will connect with her best. Also her Mars in Leo helps tremendously, since Americans subconsciously crave entertainment, even if its from boring politicians, that’s why Trump is simply giving us what we want!

  4. A prerequiste for becoming President is a connection to the USA chart’s Moon at 25 Aquarius. Just look at all past Presidents and you will see an aspect to Moon Aquarius. None of these candidates has an aspect to USA Moon at 25 Aquarius.

  5. The strongest candidates of this batch are Harris and Warren. Interestingly, I can see a conservative/liberal contrast between both candidates. Warren has several strong Uranus placements, both natally and aspecting the US chart which suggests that she would be a progressive, change oriented force if elected. But Harris has several placements that have historically been correlated to the US executive. She has Mars in Leo, which has been found in several other US presidents, including the current occupant. It tends to confer strong leadership qualities, also a healthy ego. Her Saturn is close to the Midheaven at 28 degrees Aquarius, where it also conjuncts the US Moon in Aquarius. That typically suggests a leader that favors the established authority. A strong placement for certain, and one that resonates with the people, but not one keen on revolutionary change, or one that would resist it once in office.

  6. With such a crowded field, would it be helpful to look at National Convention dates when available, since this is where candidates are confirmed? I remember looking at Republican National Convention some time in late 2015, when many commentators still looked at DJT as a fad candidate who’d burn at debates. And his transits for July/August 2016 were better than his main competition’s.

  7. “but there’s a troubling piece in the NY Times questioning her legend as a progressive, pointing out she did little to act for criminal justice reform and fought to uphold wrongful convictions that had been secured through official misconduct including evidence tampering, false testimony and the suppression of crucial information by prosecutors. ”
I might have pointed this out earlier, but NYT isn’t viewed as a “progressive” voice in the US at the moment. Big portion of Democratic base is still angered by their choice to make Hillary Clinton e-mails their main story in October 2016, instead of Trump’s general corruption. They’ve also angered minorities by running literally dozens of stories explaining Trump support with “economic anxiety”, when Trump normalizing hatespeach undoubtably was a factor in his campaign. And, their Russia coverege has been effective. More big stories have been broken by Buzzfeed than NYT.

Therefore, whether accurate or not, a NYT piece would probably have a limited influence to any Democratic candidate’s campaign. This simply isn’t the media their base follows.

That said, I also do not see Harris winning presidency or even Democratic candidacy, because it now seems likely Trump will be gone or won’t run in 2020, and Republicans will elect Romney. Democrats might have to adjust by presenting a more “conservative” candidate, possibly Biden. Two old white guys competing might also explain why Election Night 2020 seems astrologically “unenthusiastic”.Harris will, probably, get a big seat, though.

  8. Would be great if Klobuchar were picked for VP, which might account for buoyant spirits after disillusion. She’s level headed, thoughtful, and her down-to-earth Midwestern ways are crowd-pleasing. Gillibrand was responsible for destroying Al Franken’s Senate career and dissing Bill Clinton (the Clintons launched her political career), so she’s widely perceived as an ingrate, even in New York, her home state. They say NY Governor Andrew Cuomo also wants to run. Appreciate the attention you’re giving this. race.

    • I’m fairly confident we’ll get An Old White Guy / Combative and Competent Lady ticket for Democrats, and possibly for a Republican Reboot as well (they are, admittedly, a bit short on female department, but Condoleece Rice is an option). Reassuring those intimidated by powerful women, but still a step away from current WH.
