Singer and actress Demi Lovato is in hospital after a suspected drug overdose. She has openly spoken of her struggles with depression, bulimia, self-harm, drug abuse and alcoholism.
Born 20 August 1992 at 6 am (unverified) Albuquerque, New Mexico, her parents split when she was two and her musician father appeared to have mental problems. She was bullied at school so opted for home schooling and started down the drama/music route when she was ten.

I also question what they have been subjected to in the industry as children? A growing number of celebs who had fame early have mentioned the numerous predators that are around. I think that certainly adds to the unresolved emotional trauma and combining it with the stress of living in the spotlight/the only thing they know that has defined their ‘public identities’. I guess turning to drugs for many in private is their only way to decompress? Unfortunately, some go beyond that, which makes Lovato’s suspected overdose very concerning if not tragic.
Could this be a case of an early demise at 27 similar to Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse??
