Corey Booker leads a Democrat pushback

Democrat Corey Booker has broken the record for the longest speech in US Senate history after speaking for more than 25 hours without a bathroom break to deliver a marathon protest of the policies of Trump. He said the threats to American democracy were “grave and urgent”.

Born 27 April 1969 1.10 am Washington, DC (from memory) he is a determined Taurus Sun conjunct Saturn in late Aries in his communication 3rd house. His Saturn is further emphasized being on the focal point of a yod inconjunct a 10th house Neptune sextile Uranus Jupiter Pluto in Virgo in his 3rd house. Plus his Mars in outspoken Sagittarius is square Pluto. A powerful, determined personality who clashes with Trump – with a power-struggling Pluto in their relationship composite 10th square Sun. On synastry, his Jupiter Pluto squares DT’s Sun opposition Moon.

He’s looking discouraged this year with tr Saturn Neptune opposition his Jupiter Pluto Uranus, rattled in 2027 and anxious in 2028. If his birth time is accurate he does have a Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct his Midheaven at some point soon but he is not at his most successful on the career front with tr Saturn moving through his low profile First Quadrant from some years ahead.

For the 2028 election/29 Inauguration the most hopeful is Pete Buttigieg with tr Pluto square his 10th house Jupiter and tr Jupiter conjunct his Pluto. Though he also has a tricky Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct his Neptune which could either make his dreams come true or dash his hopes. And on a second look, tr Saturn in Taurus opposition his Jupiter for a blockage – so pluses and minuses.

Alexandra Ocasio-Ortez is also looking upbeat in late 2028 with tr Jupiter moving through her 10th conjunct her Mars and Sun; though she may be personally disappointed with tr Neptune opposition her Jupiter/Uranus midpoint and hovering around the square to her Saturn. Though she looks upbeat in the July of 2028 when the convention will be held.

Gavin Newsom also has tr Jupiter conjunct his Sun over the election though tr Neptune conjunct his Saturn won’t help his confidence.

  1. To those on this page who think that we are doomed to stay with old white guys as the only ones who can win elections, I respectfully disagree. And my reasoning lies with astrology as opposed to recent history.
Right now, we have Pluto in Aquarius. Each time this occurs, a process occurs where power transfers from dictators who treat women badly fall and power eventually goes to women. I recall this period occurred when Nero took power. Powerful women such as Boudicci rose up, and even though she lost, Nero was eventually overthrown and committed suicide. The same occurred with King Henry, who eventually gave rise to Queen Mary and then Queen Elizabeth.
Will we have a woman president? Yes. Maybe not by 2028, but if Trump and Republicans continue to do poorly, do you really think this country will want another rich white guy at the helm? Especially since anti-rich sentiment is becoming more and more wide spread?
We need to keep our minds and hearts open and wait for our options to show up.

    • As someone who’s been involved in Democratic politics almost my entire life, I don’t see an obvious presidential choice right now. The eventual Dem candidate could well be someone who isn’t really on our radar now but who emerges as a charismatic leader during the fight against Trump, Vance and Project 2025. No idea who!

      • IIRC neither Clinton or Obama were on anyone’s radar much until a couple of years prior to their elections.

Gavin Newsom is the best placed astrologically as Jupiter conjuncts his Sun on election day.

On the Republican side I would keep an eye on Ivanka Trump. She’s keeping a low profile now but Pluto square her Sun in 2028 could propel her further.

Both Newsom and Ivanka score well on E.A. Meece’s Presidential charisma analysis: https://philosopherswheel.com/presidentialelections.html#WhoScoredWhat

  2. I really like what Cory Booker did here. He didn’t just read some Dr Seuss book like Tes Cruz did with his Medicare (or Aid?) filibuster. He used the space to speak his truth. The way he closed the speech was beautiful. My Libra Mars has always found Civil Right Movement an inspiration, and referring to the late John Lewis was touching.

That said, I honestly don’t think Americans, including political leadership, realize how different the country, and its international standing will be in 2028, and thus have really difficult time imagining how a “winning candidate” will look like. It is possible that Booker and AOC (who has, privately, told she doesn’t find Presidency appealing, she likes legislative work, and I agree, she seems great at that) have a very different fight to fight then. That said, I have hard time seeing someone like Newsom, a very establishment personality currently rubbing elbows with Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon, but coming across just as disingenuous as when pretending reading books banned from schools in Red States, will have have a wider appeal. Then again, he will have tr. NN conjunct his Moon November 7th, 2028 (as do I, which might make what ever prediction I’ll make mid-2027ish VERY accurate 😉 ).

My gut feeling also looking at the stars in 2028 is that the preferred candidate would be someone with a fighting spirt, but willing to rebuild and restore. Saturn will be Taurus for most of 2028, entering to the sign in April and being retrograde in November. Uranus and Neptune will be retrograde, too. Jupiter is direct in Libra, and Pluto is pushing through Aquarius. Notably, Venus is conjunct Jupiter, and Moon will be in Cancer. This feels like “Restoration Day” for some American values, quite frankly.

    • It will happen for sure. The Right everywhere in the world and all throughout history always, always overreaches and turns to authoritarianism if not outright fascism when guardrails and restraints are not reinforced and allowed to decay. This time is no different, but under Trump2, they are causing deep, even tremendous damage to the US that won’t be quickly remedied.

My experience of the Left in the US is scattered and disempowered. They reached their modern zenith during the 1930s under FDR—the Democratic Party at that time was unabashedly Democratic Socialist—but lost their MO somewhere between the McCarthyist/Red Scare 1950s and the Civil Rights/Social/Sexual Revolution of the 1960s and early 70s. Bernie Sanders is a genuine throwback to the old New Deal Democrats, but the party was once full of such people as he.

Meanwhile, the Corporatists and Moralists on the American Right began enacting a 50 year plan that seems to have reached its maturity with Project 2025 and Trump’s political resurrection, though it may well have turned out to be a case of “careful what you wish for.”

My thinking has long been that the relative strength of conservatism in the US is tied to the country’s 1776 founding Dec of Independence natal Pluto in Capricorn placement, which just experienced its first return. Pluto in Virgo trined the US natal Pluto in the late 60s/early 70s, which is roughly around the time that US Conservatives found their footing and stride and the 50 year project began in earnest.

For what it’s worth, the 1787 US Constitution has its natal Pluto in Aquarius, suggesting the true power of the government is not in the hands of the Corporatists, but rather the people themselves. It’s approaching a return in the mid 2030s, so the US is looking at an overhaul and major government reforms around that time which will ultimately be in the hands of the people themselves, rather than corporations and billionaires.

It bears worth mentioning also that the US has its third Uranus Return from 2027-8, followed into the 2030s by a string of Uranus transits to the natal US Sun and others Cancerian planets. Liberation will triumph over tyranny. The only question is how.
