Chiron in Taurus – fitness and finances

Chiron has now dipped a toe in Taurus for the first time in forty years and after a retrograde this autumn and winter, will be there until 2033.

Attaching a meaning to its years is tricky since life is continually churning through highs and lows and it may affect cultural trends rather than actual events. It is possible to look at Chiron in Aries of the recent past since 2018 as one when there was a crisis of self-worth and identity. The culture seemed to emphasis tribal identity as a way of binding people together in an outer cause as a way of giving them a pseudo-identity which goes along with feelings of individual powerlessness.

Chiron in Taurus tends to undermine all Taurean attributes – a sense of solidity and endurance, safety and security. It could affect attitudes to fitness, health, the body or money. Although it may emphasise an inability to see events symbolically which is Taurus’ feet-on-the-ground approach, it can also be a creative force.

Chiron In Taurus: 19 June 2026 to 17 September 2026, then retrogrades into Aries until 14 April 2027. Thereafter stays in Taurus till 2033.

  1. Coming from having a Chiron in Taurus, there is this issue about things being given being taken away / broken / spoilt by others. You learn to cope as you grow up, taking either a possessive attitude to things or couldn’t care attitude because it will eventually be gone. I can’t remember the term a friend used when I was chatting with her and she was very fast to pin point the issue of things being taken away. But the hurt will remain.

And to Gd, I think whatever I have mentioned in previous post just all felt like Uranus in Taurus.

  2. Chiron in Taurus will conjunct the UK 1801 chart’s Mars in Taurus in the 8th and go on to oppose that chart’s Neptune in Scorpio in the 2nd. The last time we lived through its transit over Mars was during the late 1970s, under the Callaghan government which saw taxation rise to 83% and with additional surcharges to 98%. I remember this as a child because my father was paid by his company in goods.

The period of 1927 to 33 of course saw the devastation caused by the Great Depression, the unemployment crisis, the slashing of welfare benefits by 10%, the death of the Gold Standard and the lowering of the interest rate to 1%. But house building rose, particularly in the suburbs as borrowing became cheaper, fundamentally shifting British wealth into bricks and mortar tangible house ownership.

The 1880s saw the Great Depression of British Agriculture. Cheap American grain imports saw British grain prices plummet. British land, which had been the safest financial bet for generations, suddenly became deeply unprofitable and as many landowners turned to lower cost sheep farming Agricultural labourers were laid off, many moving to the cities for factory work. The reliance on land ownership for profit was in decline as the country moved towards global financial services, shipping and the City of London, which meant that Britain began to rely more on imports.

So the pattern of Chiron in Taurus for the UK is this: Chiron in Taurus means a wounding in terms of assets since it traverses the UK’s 2nd and 8th houses, making conjunctions to Mars at 11 Taurus and eventually Neptune at 18 Scorpio. It shatters the illusion of financial stability, wounding whichever system we are relying upon prior to its transit. One can therefore conclude that the UK will be similarly challenged during this current period. As Hugh days in his post on Starmer’s resignation, we are likely going to be required to tighten our belts and brace ourselves when it comes to resources.

    • Just an add-on: During the 1930s, it was generally frowned upon, but there was a huge rise in hoarding, whether it be money or stockpi;ing food. This comes into E F Benson’s ‘Mapp & Lucia’ books, where Mapp is caught hoarding jams and pickles! These behaviours did to an extent form the lifelong habits of the Silent Generation. My parents were terrible hoarders.

      • Just to add to your comment; Barbara Hand Clow summarises Chiron in Taurus natives as “preservers of values but not creators of anything new to reality”. On the material plane, one can value goods and possessions; but it also applies the deeper you get valuing rights, kindness, love, truth etc. Extra note she says these natives can have bizarre sexual habits!

Can see how square of Chiron in Taurus wanting to preserve values will clash with Pluto in Aquarius over the next few years

  3. Does chiron in Aries has anything to do with weight loss jab, revised BBL surgery and etc

Just seeing a trend of downsizing the enhanced body shape.

    • Marjorie attributed weight loss jabs to Uranus in Taurus.
