Canada – fending off the predator ++ Mark Carney (with birth time) into the hot seat ++ Sworn In

Canada has responded to Trump’s deranged demands for obeisance by pulling together in a show of national unity with the political landscape turning turtle. Trudeau’s Liberals, sagging in popularity until recently, have seen a sharp rise in popularity, partly because of Trudeau’s impending exit and also because his possible successors are seen as better defenders against their rabid neighbour.

There is a suggestion that the Royal Proclamation of 11 October 1763 would be a better chart for Canada than 1 July 1867. Both will have a validity and both exhibit strength of determination. The 1763 chart has a Libra Sun and Saturn in Taurus trine Mars in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn.  While the 1867 chart has an ultra-determined Saturn in Scorpio opposition Pluto in Taurus with a Cancer Sun conjunct Uranus with Mars in Virgo. Neither will give way easily if at all.

The two wars fought against the USA with the USA losing in 1775 and 1812 had Neptune at 22 Virgo and Pluto at 19 Pisces respectively.  The only similarity at the moment is tr Saturn in last decan Pisces this month.

Both the Canada dates in relation to the USA indicate an ongoing disagreement with heavy pressure through this year and into 2026.  With two points marked up this year – one with Uranus at 26 Taurus in late April and the other when Uranus moves into Gemini in July.

Trumps’ relationship with Canada 1867 point to April/May as high tension, freezer points  and really on and off into 2026; with a bad tempered spat in August/September this year.

Doug Ford, the current Ontario premier has stepped forward as a key fighter in the battle to defend Canada, threatening to cut off the electricity supply to the US. Ford, 20 November 1964, is a rock solid Sun Scorpio opposition Jupiter square Saturn in Aquarius – he looks rattled come June this year and on and off late in the year into 2026 with tr Uranus opposition his Sun and square his Saturn.  His relationship chart with Trump which is hostile at the best of times will break out into an explosive reaction in June and July this year and worse in 2026.

Of the other political players – Pierre Polievre and Trump, if anything more rattled in 2026 than this year.

Mark Carney and Trump are in turmoil come the second half of this May and again January to March 2026.

Chrystia Freeland with Trump – a sparring match come July onwards.

Nothing too conclusive but it could drag on.

Pic: Recent fight between predator eagle and a Canadian goose ended up with the eagle in retreat.

ADD ON:  Mark Carney has been elected as Justin Trudeau’s replacement and therefore steps into the prime ministerial chair at least until the general election later this year. He is a former Bank of Canada and Bank of England governor with strong economic credentials and an international outlook; with a career before that in Goldman Sachs. But he is untested politically. He was publicly anti-Brexit saying it would cause a recession and is more confrontational than his pin stripe suited appearance might suggest.

He was born 16 March 1965 Ottawa, Ontario, no birth time, with a charming Sun Venus conjunct in Pisces with Saturn also in Pisces opposition a formidable and explosive stellium in Virgo of Uranus, Pluto, Moon and Mars. Plus a super-optimistic Jupiter in acquisitive Taurus opposition Neptune.

What is astro-fascinating is that his Jupiter falls conjunct Trump’s Midheaven – which seen one way could be understand as a successful career duo. Though Carney has been explicit in his dislike of Trump and his policies. How it apparently has worked is that Trump has undoubtedly helped Carney’s career unwittingly and Carney’s Jupiterian mission in life will be to teach Trump ‘a sense of cultural responsibility and ethics in public life.’

Where the mighty clash comes from is Carney’s Mars, Uranus, Pluto in Virgo falling in Trump’s First House and square DT’s 10th house Uranus so Carney certainly has the ability to throw Trump off course.

Their relationship will be mightily upset in the latter stages of this June and explosively much worse early August to mid October this year – and again in 2026. Bitter differences are likely to widen the rift between them.

Carney’s personal chart will blocked and frustrated late August to early December this year; though upbeat just before then through July and early August – so he’d do well to call and election earlier than the autumn.

Add On:  Mark Carney was sworn in at 11.28am this morning in Ottawa, March 14th. This puts an assertive Mars in the 1st in a determined trine to Saturn Sun conjunct North Node and Neptune in the 10th sextile a progressive Uranus. It’s not a bad Term chart apart from a blocked Pluto in the 8th hinting at financial pressures; and a 4th house Moon conjunct South Node suggesting an emotionally confused and security-conscious electorate. Nit picking over details may be one flaw when what is needed is an imaginative approach backed by confidence and faith that doing the right thing will produce results.

  1. Trump has indeed united Canadians in a way that is quite staggering. Flags are everywhere to be seen now. If you go to any major retailer they proudly indicate Canadian made or grown.

The contrast to the not so distant past is quite astonishing, breathtaking actually.

The very same neighbours who’d sneer and proclaim they only felt shame when they saw the very modest flag displayed on my doorstep, now have unfurled quite a remarkable specimen themselves.

The erroneous NYT article regarding a “mass grave” of 215 children discovered on the grounds of the Kamloops residential school spurred the toppling of monuments and well over a hundred cases of church arson. The frothing anti-Canadian sentiments seemed to be active everywhere at the time.

How might the synastry for that (yet to be corrected) article factor into things, I wonder? September 5, 2022

We seem to be at the zenith of patriotism right now. The nation being convulsed by the fabrication from the New York Times, was very much the modern nadir.

We’ve just had a decade of Trudeau boasting that Canada was a post national state and that it had no identity.

    I am reminded of Orwell’s 1984,

“Oceania was at war with Eastasia: Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia. A large part of the political literature of five years was now completely obsolete. Reports and records of all kinds, newspapers, books, pamphlets, films, sound-tracks, photographs—all had to be rectified at lightning speed.”

  2. One interesting development in all this is how the ice hockey GOAT Wayne Gretzky has fallen completely out of grace in Canada. I grew up in a hockey household, my father is a life long fan and used to coach junior teams, and I remember the Oilers Stanley Cup run, as well as the shock Gretzky being traded to LA Kings caused. That said, it’s no comparison to what’s happened now, 36 years later with Gretzky refusing to refute his “friend” DJT.

Hockey circles tend to be right wing, and given Vladimir Putin’s genuine interest in the game, also aligned with Putin. Gretzky is known for golfing with Trump and frequently visiting Mar-a-Lago. That said, I think people did not expect Gretzky to be all but mute in this debate, especially given his Ukrainian roots.

Gretzky is born January 26th 1961, 07.45 am in Brantford, Ontario. This makes him 5-6° Aquarius Sun/Ascendant (Sun 1st house side) trine 9° Gemini Moon. Interestingly, he has a Pisces Venus that tends to make people quick on their feet (he was an exceptionally good skater for his generation of North Americans, you’d usually see this with Soviets – or Russians, since the game was always popular in parts of the country with natural ice) sextiling 12th house Capricorn Saturn/Jupiter. Can’t pinpoint what’s there to cause the stir, but suspect years leading to Pluto conjunct his Ascendant/Sun won’t be happy.

Interestingly, the whole Oilers attack line has had rough couple of years. The Right Wing Jari Kurri became first the GM and then the main owner of the Finnish KHL (Putin endorsed Russian professional series that expanded to Northern Europe in the early 2010’s) team Jokerit, and was completely shunned when Russia attacked Ukraine (again) in 2012. Esa Tikkanen, the Left Wing, was just convicted for tax evasion.

During Trump’s first presidency, I suspect some of the money movement between his campaign and Russia was handled through hockey contacts and especially Rothenbergs. I have never been able to shake that feeling. Now, given Russia is shut out, it must be something else.

    • Such an interesting analysis. Thanks. My son is Pisces Venus and was a natural at snowboarding (with no training) and at wall climbing but otherwise mostly nonathletic and actually clumsy (and disinterested) with most other sports. Maybe he should look into ice skating. Interesting overall on this site with all the comments that highlight unique placements and activities of daily living. It’s much appreciated.

    • Hi Salea,
Greatly appreciate your comments, as always. Could you please explain what you mean by “now, given Russia is shut out”?

  3. Mark Carney charming? Dunno ’bout that. His Venus is also conjunct Chiron, which can be a difficult aspect, and if that Moon is around those other Virgo planets, then he might, or he might not, have many mother issues. Plus Virgo is not a really comfortable place for a Moon.

I seem to remember him in the UK as smug. As if he at times like to subtly poke fun at the British, maybe even intentionally and out of spite try to annoy them, and wander around having no remorse about the enormous salary and living expenses of those amounts regularly given to him.

I don’t think I’m a fan. But I might be wrong, especially if he showed kindness and generosity somewhere and care for those not really blessed by life.

    • I don’t like the shoe horning of people like Carney into positions of political power without them even standing as Members of Parliament. It is precisely this sort of activity that strengthens the claims of people like Trump and Vance that much of the western world is run by an unaccountable self appointed and self serving bureaucratic elite who only pay lip service to democracy.

      • @Hugh Fowler
You are spot on with unelected functionaries, the EU springs to mind. Regarding Mark Carney maybe the liberals see him as protection from a Trump look alike, an election would be the best way to give credence, I know next to nothing about Canadian politics but they have reached an important juncture.

        • He is a caretaker PM, till the general election which has to be held by 20th October at the very latest.

My objection is that by drafting in Carney who has never been elected, is that he might as well be President. Canada becomes in effect a Republic through the back door. And this is being done without the permission of the Canadian people.

      • No positive comments at all? I’m a little surprise at the fanger pointing at Carney. Would folks prefer a T-look-a-like? At least he’s stood up, facing the fire.

        • I live in Canada and am deeply relieved that Mark Carney is the Liberal leader. He is not the first in our history to be a PM without having a seat in the House of Commons. We have also had premiers of the provinces become premiers without being an MLA. It all sorts out in the first election.. one way or the other. We didn’t become a republic in those instances and I would not say that is happening now.

These are extraordinary circumstances in Canada. Mr. Carney does bring certain skills to the table… and right now, I’m appreciating them! Of course he’s a kind of wild card in how he’s become PM… I prefer this to the alternative! Pierre Poillievre is a life-time politician with little experience in the “real” world plus he most definitely was parroting Trump sound bites verbatim.… word for word! I still believe that ex-PM Stephen Harper is in the background of the Conservative party. I do not want PP as our next PM.

I know of some true blue Conservatives who will be voting Liberal… voting for Mr. Carney. So that says something.

I am intrigued with Mark Carney’s chart…. that Pisces Virgo polarity… very mutable and tied in closely with the 1867 Canada chart. I’ve known a number of strong Pisces people who have professions in finance. His mutable nodes.. north at 17 Gem. hits the Canada 1867 Venus at 15 Gem, and the 1763 chart’s Jup 16 Gem opp Moon 14 Sag. He is wired in to the country, it seems.

And I have to say, I am intrigued with a Pluto/Uranus in Virgo 1965 person stepping up into Canadian leadership. I have a number of these people in my life and I keep tabs on their life trajectory…. interesting people. I’ve called them “conservative rebels”… they can seem so proper and Virgoan on the outside, but have a kind of nuclear reactor on the inside. I hear he has a temper!…. hopefully he manages that well.

As an aside… Helen Sullivan, a Guardian contributor, just posted a terrific article on the beaver. I adore her writing! I’d been thinking of this animal as it is the symbol animal of Canada. (it is not the Canada goose!… although that goose/eagle story was fun). If you want to know something about Canadians, read that article!

      • Not self appointed. Any Canadian can join any party and vote in leadership votes.
Not unaccountable. We have a robust democracy in Canada. Not perfect but healthy, dynamic, accountable.

  4. Another Virgo Moon, Carney… What might it be… The exit of Neptune from Pisces that is somehow bringing them all into the limelight?

Reminds me of the overload of Geminis in years past.

  5. As I’ve mentioned before, I am truly a novice with astrology, but I feel with Jupiter ending and Uranus starting their transits in Gemini, there will be some reckoning for Trump and Poilievre. Speaking as a Taurus, I can attest to some blindsides in the last number of years. Poilievre has a voting history that is contrary to what he states today. I am concerned that if he attains a majority in government, there will be rollbacks with immigration, women’s reproductive rights and so on. He may not be MAGA enough now, but he could be. And I believe Carney’s lack of proficiency with the French language is minor if his ideas are sound and can steer Canada through this crisis. He may yet prevail in Quebec despite a Liberal legacy. (BTW, born in France and live in Alberta).

  6. I doubt that Carney will win the next election in May. For one thing, he makes laughable msitakes in French. He recently said he agreed with Hamas. Poilievre’s French is far superior. Even Liberal strategists admit Carney could be killed off in the French language debate. If he loses Québec, he’s done. Second, he does not exude energy or inspire enthusiasm, to put it mildly. He is likely the sacrificial lamb of a dying Liberal regime which has been very unpopular. Current polling is in my view deceptive and he could be brought down to earth soon. Liberals have had three leaders since 1984 that turned out to be duds and the Conservatives famously had one. Poilievre will cast him as a sneaky globalist since he has Irish and UK citizenship which he now says he will renounce.

Astrologically, I think what we are witnessing are the effects of transiting Uranus conjunct the 1867 Pluto and opposite 1867 Saturn. This is happening for the second time in Canadian history. The first was of course in the years leading up to Pearl Harbour. Canada entered both world wars on the side of the British essentially a Saturn cycle before the US. There were then as now sharp differences between the two countries on foreign policy but Canada’s positions were proven right.
At the end of WWI, Canada achieved de facto political sovereignty by signing separately the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. Full constitutional sovereignty was obtained peacefully from the UK, very unlike the US, through the Statute of Wesminster of 11 December 1931, which also applied to other countries (Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, even Ireland and Newfoundland, but not, to Gandhi’s dismay, India). The 1763 chart is interesting but I think, as an alternative, the 1931 chart works better.

Canada rose to the challenge in both world wars, but the Uranus transit peaked in 1951 with a conjunction with the 1867 Sun-Uranus conjunction at 8 Cancer. That was the time of its highest standing of the world as a founding member of both the UN and NATO. Canada’s civil service was then deemed the best in the world. Constitutionally, this was when appeals to the British Judicial Committee of the Privy Council ended and a distinct Candian monarchy was created with the title of King of Canada, although the royal person or lines of succession were unchanged. Canada successfully met the challenge of transiting Pluto in Leo square the Pluto-Saturn opposition. This time, Pluto in Aquarius will bring other profound challenges for many years.

The transit of Uranus in Gemini will be conjunct Canada’s Moon which is conjunct the US Mars. Canada’s people is certainly sensitive to the more enterprisoing and violent culture of its neighbour, but also keeps clear of it to a a large extent. The Moon in Gemini also reflects Canada’s dual nature and its difficulty at transcending what was called the two solitudes, a view that is now made obsolete by the reinforcement of native rights and culture, particularly under Justin Trudeau. Internal understanding remains a challenge. Canada is now going through a rare period of cross-community consensus thanks to Donald Trump, but Québec’s support is more rational for once and less emotional. It is fascinating for the people of Québec, who have been riveted and sharply polarized by their own debates on sovereignty, to rediscover Canadians’ passionate but usually understated commitment to their country.

It must not be forgotten that modern Québec nationalism was also the product of the two world wars, largely because of conscription crises. Left alone, Québec would probably have remained neutral like Ireland, and for the same reasons. It would not have wanted to fight the British oppressor’s wars, although that view was by no means unanimous. Québec’s national flag dates from 1948 and predates the Canadian maple leaf by 17 years, which replaced the old one with the Union Jack in the corner. Canadians should not make the mistake of thinking that because Québec supports Canada against Trump, the dream of independence is over. I will be attending a conference by a Sinn Fein politician in Montreal this week.

Indeed, the Neptune transit in Pisces in Canada’s 12th house underlined its great capacity for delusion and self-undoing, which Justin Trudeau embodied. The coming Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries in the 12th square the Sun-Uranus 1867 conjunciton will not make things easier. Existential confusion will likely increase considerably in the near term.

    • I’m aware I made a laughable mistake myself and other typos. My apologies to Carney, who is certainly a gentleman. But he can’t seem to pronounce the French sound OU, which should be easy (as in the English ooo), and the result is sometimes quite droll.

      • What is with this era, that we r having funny leaders more :-)…certainly makes life bearable in these struggling times of inflation to ongoing battles etc

      • @Andre: could be regional accent. Plenty of Frenchmen in Paris become lazy. Same here in the Colonies, esp the accents of native New Yorkers.

Why make a point of this?

    • Thanks Andre. That was interesting.
How does De Gaulle’s intervention in Quebec politics in 1967 figure in the charts. I seem to remember it caused a stir at the time.

    • Thanks for Gandhi reference ..if he wasn’t the central figure, it would have happened but no regrets since he got what he wanted finally

  7. Marjorie, I hope you’ll do Mark Carney’s chart, they’re saying he’s the next PM of Canada. I took a quick look at his DOB and it’s so polarized between Pisces and Virgo (couldn’t find a time of birth). I’ll be interested in your thoughts.

    • Agreed, I’d like to see her interpretation of his chart also but I hope she’ll wait until he takes his oath of office so we can have times/dates to glean a better idea of what to expect from his tenure (though with Venus currently retrograde, Mercury about to retrograde, and the upcoming lunar eclipse which will oppose Canada’s natal Chiron – I’m sadly inclined to agree with André that Carney’s Prime Ministership will be very short-lived)

  8. These world affairs posts are great, thank you. And thanks for the analysis, it’d be neat to see one focused on Carney if he turns out to be PM until the next election (voting closed today).
I must humbly object to your choice of picture, the goose won the fight against the well-known bully and carrion-eater bald eagle. Also, the wording of “The two wars fought against the USA and lost in 1775 and 1812 had Neptune at 22 Virgo and Pluto at 19 Pisces respectively” is unclear, but it seems to say Canada lost both. Britain lost in 1775 against the American revolutionaries, but Canada did not lose anything, the state / provincial borders remained the same. And the war of 1812 – the only people who say Americans won this are Americans. The USA invaded Canada with a plan to take it over / take territory, and at the end of fighting in 1814 the USA had seized no Canadian territory, but Canada had seized part of Maine, which was only returned upon signing a peace treaty, the Treat of Ghent, in 1815.
The Canadians / British also sacked Washington and burned the Whitehouse.

  9. From a proud Canadian who notes that Ontario’s Doug Ford will respond with tariffs on electricity going into three USA states and has told governors of those states that he has little recourse. Perhaps they can tune turkey Trump into real time scenarios on people and business in day to day life.
One aside: the very chaotic, over reactive and unhinged responses from Trump may have a parallel to the final times of Hitler. In years leading up to his death there was a downward spiraling of Hitlers mental capacity due to a latent onset of syphilis. It adversely alters the brain in the final stages of the disease.

    • Maybe we are starting to see the conditions develop that will be triggered by the transit of Uranus into Gemini. Communication disruptions. Twin disruptions. Urban disruptions.

I’m not sure what the total generation capacity is in the US but I know the trade in electricity between the US and Canada is not based on the US not having generation, it is because Canada is hydroelectic and it is cheaper than US sources. A year ago the US purchased 6 gigawatt hours from Canada but in the 12 months since the imports are down to 2 gigawatt hours. That didn’t happen because Canada shut off power, it happened because there is a drought affecting your hydropower. So US buyers switched to the relatively more expensive yet still pretty affordable natural gas generation. During that same 12 months, Canada went from purchasing 1 gigawatt hour to 1.5 gigwatt hours from the US.

The net purchase between the US and Canada even went in the US’s favor twice in the last year. We were exporting more than importing.

Canada may not like what results, if the electricity is shut off. Immediately, the US would start to move away from Canadian interconnection. Some of the things we might do would ultimately mean Canada couldn’t get back the trade.

My state is a net exporter of power and we have been putting in place energy storage for a couple years even in my rural area to manage electricity prices. It is evening out our demand curves. We go to the storage when we used to buy at the peaks.

In my state, one of our reactors isn’t even operating today. It will be available again in mid-April. If we turn it on, we will immediately generate 1.0 gigawatt hour that we could sell to the northern states Canada is targetting. We are in the same electricity region. We aren’t alone in having excess generation capacity, six reactors are currently down with one more going down tomorrow. March and April are a heavy schedule after the winter. After April, the entire rest of the year has only one scheduled.

We would be disrupted if Canada cuts the power but Canada would also be disrupted. It would be better for everyone to just slap a 25% tariff on it. Canada will make some money and we will probably build some more natural gas infrastructure which we are going to need for AI anyway.

    • Democratic political consultant James Carville put out a video last week saying he thinks Trump’s behavior indicates a late stage case of syphilis.

      • I think Rupert Lowe might have Alzheimers, purely because he seems unable to contain his. aggressive behaviour. But I am not a doctor and neither is your political consultant. Or not that I know of. But anything is possible. But what I want to know is why, they continually want to be thanked? Even to the extent of demanding thanks off Poland, for something that Elon Musk produces and that Poland pays for.

        • Ranting makes good tv. Everything is now pure entertainment culture. We are living in a Netflix scrolling world. ‘boo” “yay”. Click.

        • @Roderick, I agree with you and AC about Carville’s irrelevance. He’s out of touch with the populace about resisting Trump and advocates that Dems should just sit back and let Trump self-destruct. I disagree; public resistance is essential.

However, he still gets air time because he’s entertaining and, with his Cajun background, can always come up with a pointed observation that’s often amusing. His comments that “something’s just not right with that boy,” Trump, who, he said, may have late stage syphilis, were made originally on his own YouTube channel. Clickbait.

    • Wish I knew more. The blue States which are likely consuming Canadian Power – New England – are no fans of the current Federal Government. These are the Very states DJT wants to bring to heel.

      • According to the 2020 report on main recipients of Canadian energy:New York, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Maine, California (79% of BC exports go to California!), Vermont, Nevada and Arizona.

  10. Marjorie, I do apologise for being non-astrological, but really appreciate that photograph. I saw this in the news yesterday, a striking, synchronous set of images. But unusual animal appearances and behaviours do seem to correlate to momentous and important changes. I recall the escaped horses in London, and the beautiful white stag that was shot in Liverpool.

Last June, as the election campaign in the US was in full throttle an extremely rare white bison calf was spotted in Yellowstone by a female tourist and her children. The appearance of a white bison holds significance for First Nation Lakota people in the region. Their tradition says the arrival of a white calf is seen as both a blessing and a warning. Every time a white calf is seen, according to one Lakota writer, Simon Moya-Smith; “you have this prophecy of something good or something bad will happen. But we know that it’s going to be great – great in the sense that it’s going to be significant”.

      • Well, apparently, scientists did a statistical analysis of the correlation between oarfish appearance and earthquakes, and there was none.

    • @Virgoflake, related to animal symbolism, something that has been brought up a lot lately is Mormon White Horse Prophecy, where, when the US Constitution hangs by a thread, it will be saved by the Latter Day Saints through the efforts of White Horse. White Horse is obviously symbolic here.

What is interesting, though, is that how this has guided the mainline LDS members. While Conservative, the public service has been a preferred route for many Mormons. CIA, in particular, is disproportionately LDS, possibly also given their Mission, where sending young people out to live among locals is the key. I would not be surprised if people guided by White Horse prophecy would influence both domestic and international affairs in the US the coming months.

Another note: Canadian geese are a foreign species that has taken over much of Helsinki seafront. They are extremely vicious, territorial and un bothered by people. It’s virtually impossible to drive through the seaside promenade – a favourite passtime for bikers and vintage car owners – without being disturbed. And oh, if you want to have a picnic in Kaivopuisto, a park opened to entertain wealthy Russian spa visitors suffering from Nicholas I’s isolationist policies in the 1830’s and long a haven for Helsinki residents especially in hot Summer days, you need to clean up the poop first.

Canada could so the funniest thing ever dropping a thousand or so to Washington DC, I think they are wintering in the area anyway…

      • Solaia and Virgoflake – a curious coincidence regarding white animals, and the White Horse Prophecy symbolism: all our approaching eclipses this Spring and Autumn are aligned with fixed stars in the constellation Pegasus the flying white horse, offspring of Medusa (Algol in Perseus) and Neptune.

Algenib 9 Aries – conjunct March Solar Eclipse
Markab 23 Pisces opposes March Lunar Eclipse
Homam 16 Pisces – conjunct September Lunar Eclipse
Scheat 29 Pisces – opposes September Solar Eclipse

Pegasus flies to the heavens, his rider falls to earth. Pegasus continues to Mt Olympus, where his job is to carry the thunderbolts and lightning of Zeus/Jupiter. It is a constellation of much energy I think.

“The constellation portends events concerning ships and the ocean and also changes in the weather. In medieval times it was said to indicate vain individuals with a great deal of ambition, but with very poor judgment.” [Fixed Stars and Judicial Astrology, George Noonan, 1990, p.22.]

        • And, according to Mark Carney’s chart that Marjorie’s posted on here previously, his birthday is 16 March, 1965. Quite a see-saw of Pisces and Virgo. The Lunar Eclipse is 14 March, 2 degrees from his natal Sun. The Solar at the end of the month is close to his Aries Mercury. His Mars and Pluto will be opposed at the beginning of September by the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. More Pegasus, more white horses!

        • The North Sea collision and fire is of interest in that respect, Jane given the lineup in Pisces today with Neptune now at 29 Pisces.

          • Yes, VF, I noticed that rather mysterious news today – so close to the eclipses, and Neptune with Scheat. I have noticed plane crashes associated with Pegasus as well, mostly not appearing in the old fixed star literature because there were far fewer (or even no) planes when interpretations were written.
I’ve been fascinated by the whole story of Medusa, Neptune, Perseus and Pegasus in recent times as the stars in those constellations keep cropping up alongside our current transiting planets. Uranus will align again with Algol/Medusa this spring, Saturn aligns with Scheat in May, January and February. I see the eclipses bouncing along through several of the charts here, and therefore the story of Pegasus. With Pegasus carrying Jupiter’s thunder and lightning, I wonder what else is coming – perhaps from the skies above?

      • @Solaia, we have an overabundance of Canada geese in New England but they’re very docile here! They used to fly over us on their way to and from Canada, but now they just stay year round. The main complaint is the guano. I’ve seen recent reports of geese felled by bird flu in the US, including some large die-offs. They spread bird flu to domestic birds and animals as well. Bird flu is rattling people here – not sure of the astrology, but I haven’t seen predictions of another pandemic — anyone else? It doesn’t help that we have an anti-vaccine freak now as the head of our health departments.

          • Very tough I would have thought. We had a flock of domestic geese when I was a child, partly because, as @Solaia says, they are incredibly bad-tempered and my father (he was a 6 planet Cancer stellium on the IC) thought they would make good watchdogs. Eventually, they were slaughtered for eating but their free range lifestyle rendered them sinewy, muscular and practically inedible. Such was my somewhat eccentric Cancerian father’s goose phase, before he moved onto the idea of making homemade wine by using the traditional grape-treading method.

          • @Virginia, as @Virgoflake says they’re likely very tough.

In some parks around here they allow people to let their dogs run unleashed to discourage geese from congregating, which seems to work, but they find other places. As I said, around here anyway they’re docile – I’ve never seen nor heard of them even threatening people, though the moms of course will give you the stink eye if they have chicks.

      • @Solaia, I grew up and lived in the DC area before moving to California 25 years ago. There are Canadian geese EVERYWHERE in the Washington area, especially in parks. And yes, they aren’t the nicest of birds…or geese!
