Aaron Rodgers regarded as one of the greatest and most talented US football quarterbacks of all time is to retire after 22 seasons during which he recouped nearly $400 million in fees. He says after he gives up the game he will not go into media work but disappear.
Born 2 December 1983 at 2.50pm Chico, California, he is a supporter of Robert F Kennedy Jnr and a conspiracy theorist. During a February 2024 appearance on the conspiracy-focused Look Into It podcast hosted by Eddie Bravo, he claimed numerous conspiracy theories on medicine, immigration, and John F. Kennedy. Amongst them he claimed that AIDS and COVID were created by the government for the sake of pharmaceutical industry profits.
His Sagittarius Sun conjunct Uranus (and the pugnacious Antares) all fall in his 8th house along with Mercury Neptune in Sagittarius on the cusp of his 9th. His Sun is sextile a hard-working Mars in Libra; with his Venus in Libra in an emotionally intense conjunction with Pluto. His Saturn and Moon in his 7th house in Scorpio are both unaspected. An unintegrated Moon tends to be emotionally disorganized; and an untethered Saturn can be a loner, craving solitude who tends not to have his weaknesses tested and to lack consistent planning in ordering his life.
It does not immediately leap out as a sportsman’s chart but the birth time is recorded as birth certificate. The 8th house as well as his unmoored Moon and Saturn may give rise to his florid conspiracy theories.

I don’t think any house placement is bad for a natal planet. Certain aspects between the natal placements of planets can be challenging, but I have seen charts where very successful people have loads of squares and oppositions and also conjunctions. A lot of these individuals are driven to succeed, but of course that description does not apply to everyone. One always has to look at the circumstances of the individual involved. The easier aspects like sextiles and trines do not always lead to a charmed existence. And FYI I have a Libra Moon and a Libra Neptune in my 8th house. My Libra Saturn is in the 7th. One of the most fortunate experiences of my life was when transiting Saturn in Gemini in the 4th opposed my 10th house Sagittarius Sun. Naturally there were other aspects which assisted during this particular time in my life.
It’s important to take into account the whole picture, not just a few placements. An experienced and reputable Astrologer can be of enormous help to understand your chart.
There is a famous quote: “Stars impel but they don’t compel.” which is wise to remember.
He only has 1 retrograde planet Chiron.
This is someone I know a few things about. His family was devoutly Christian, and he had a kind of conversion experience of his own in which he rejected their religion. He has been quoted saying that losing his religion was transformative. If he wasn’t told the truth about that, what else had he been lied to about? I’ve seen a similar sort of dynamic in people who’ve seen a UFO/UAP or had some particularly sharp and unsettling psychic or haunting experience. The veil is down and with it they lose their filter and come to believe all kinds of other things. I hope he finds his way to a more even keel, but I’ve seen polling that more than 60-percent of Americans believe that the JFK assassination was a conspiracy. Count me among them. So, not all conspiracy theories are “conspiracy theories”—with all the implication of whack jobs and nutters. As for football, he played well last season, particularly given his age and the unimaginative offense he played for. And I ran his birth info through AI—Marjorie, by all means tear this down—and he is apparently in alignment to have a soft, dignified landing, in which he performs well if he can avoid injury and enjoys serving as a mentor to the team’s younger players. He started his own career as the backup to the train wreck that is Brett Favre, who cold shouldered him, and last year in Pittsburgh A-Rod was very kind and helpful to his rookie backup. The same is expected of him this year.
I didn’t twig on earlier look that Rodgers has a similar early Taurus ascendant to me. That means he’s had most of the same big house transits as I have. Pluto was going through my 9th over the Capricorn years and that really deepened my interest in astrology and other spirituality for a while; it would explain his loss of faith in catholicism. Not surprised he stayed single for so long; I still am – couldn’t find anyone to handle my depth and the combo of Scorpio-Sag 7th/8th with Jupiter really needed someone who is always bringing something new to the table.
His legacy has gone downhill over the past few years since claiming to be immunized from Covid when he hadn’t been vaccinated. He fell out with his family and went non-contact about a decade. He got married last year but won’t tell anyone who he is married to. When he left the Green Bay Packers he spoke badly of Mike McCarthy who had coached him for many years. Now Rodgers is about to play his final season for the Pittsburgh Steeler who just hired Mike McCarthy to coach them. He seems to see himself as some kind of guru (Sag) but his Scorpio/8th house planets seem to be undoing
Gnarly Dude,
Are 8th House planets always bad? Just wondering because I have a few in my 8th House.
It’s not bad per se; just difficult in a world that is increasingly material and superficial – most people aren’t tuned to their inner needs or emotional baggage and the 8th contains that kind of deep stuff. As I have Jupiter-Neptune in there I have been ghosted multiple times by potential partners suddenly ghosting me when the relationship begins to deep.
I have a concentrated stellium in the ill-omened 12th, but I’m still here. One tends to see beyond the material in the watery houses, which can be challenging and seen as ‘woo’ in an age of dense materialism.
