A knife attack on ten passengers on a train in England sent police and security forces into overdrive though they have now downplayed any terrorist connection. There is however an uncomfortable feeling about elevated risk levels in seemingly mundane situations as well as recent street demonstrations of all ideological shades threatening to erupt into violence.
On the UK chart at the moment tr Pluto has been trine the Uranus since early 2024 and is in place exactly now till early December. On country charts my impression is that ‘soft’ aspects tend to act like ‘hard’ so the effect will be stronger. Uranus Pluto = rebellion, revolution, collapse of an old setup, chaotic, anarchic.
Why this seems relevant is that the start of the Irish Troubles in 1968 which brought violence onto the UK mainland and disrupted everyday life because of fears of bombings – happened when tr Uranus was conjunct the UK Uranus for a Return. And the Solar Arc Uranus was square the UK Mercury in the 3rd house of everyday communications and transport. Plus Solar Arc Pluto was square the UK financial Neptune, part of the central configuration of the UK chart.
The Poll Tax riots of March 1990 flared up when tr Uranus was conjunct the UK Sun.
This is only a passing thought but Uranus does seem to be a potent indicator on the UK chart for civil unrest. Given that tr Uranus will square the UK Pluto from June 2026 into 2027, more can be expected. Not quite French Revolution but the populace expressing their displeasure at the status quo and the authorities’ inability to get a grip.
The Starmer government chart has Mars Uranus conjunction in the 8th with Uranus conjunct Algol which may be another factor. Not that the violence is his fault but he is taking the blame for not being able to resolve all the ills that are befalling the country. He picked the wrong time to be elected.

Worth noting that the State Opening of Parliament chart for the 17 July 2024 at circa 11.30 am had Uranus at 26 Taurus and Mars at 27 Taurus both conjunct Algol. Given that was when the government officially set out is legislative program it suggests that the policies of the Starmer administration are likely to be an aggravating factor in any future unrest. Thus while they have inherited a very poor situation it seems likely that most of the things they do are going to make any instability worse.
One thing to note about Algol is that is part of a variable star binary. It has been suggested that it at its most malign when the companion star eclipses the main star reducing its magnitude from 2.1 to 3.4. This happens every 2.87 days. I have checked the astronomical cycle and one of these eclipse minima days was at 4.52 am on 17/07/2024 when the Labour State opening of Parliament occurred. Another was on 05/07/2024 when Starmer first became PM. Given the government came to power with Neptune conjunct Scheat another potentially malevolent fixed star linked to accidents, flooding, shipwreck etc it is not surprising it has been storm tossed during its first 15 months in office.
Today’s the full supermoon at 13 Taurus, very close to UK’s Mars. Plus we have tr Mars 0 Sagittarius opposing Uranus in Gemini, with Mars sextile tr Pluto. Pluto (criminals amongst other things) trines UK Uranus in the hidden UK 12th, which may also symbolise prisons. Lunchtime shenanigans focused on another two inmates released by mistake from Wandsworth Prison. BBC website writes:
“The latest figures show that 262 prisoners in England and Wales were mistakenly released in the year leading up to March 2025, according to the prison service’s annual digest.
That’s a 128% increase compared to the 115 prisoners released in error in the year ending March 2024.”
There’s an interesting link with Algol. On 12 July 1877 the Prisons Act received Royal Assent. It gave control of prisons over to the Home Office. Pluto was 25 Taurus, square Uranus 22 Leo on the UK’s legislative Saturn, with that Pluto on this Labour Government’s Uranus. Saturn was 20 Pisces in 1877, this government’s Saturn is 19 Pisces. I can’t help but think this astrology is quite meaningful, and this issue a very important one for the UK government.
So many thoughts on both the topic at hand and the comments section.
I’ll just very quickly say that I’m a migrant from a republic to this monarchy. And I very much prefer a monarchy which can trace a lineage across the centuries along with the country it reigns over. A new monarchy (like the Pahlavis in Iran) may not command my respect or affection, but the British and Japanese monarchies do due to their long presence in the history of those countries.
Now, to change topics completely, I am intrigued at the observation about Uranus-Pluto aspects and that soft and hard aspects of that combination have similar effects. Because, regardless of chart or country, tr Uranus will form soft aspects to natal Pluto every 14 years and hard aspects every 21 years.
In its 84 year revolution across the Sun, tr Uranus will thus (soft+hard) aspect natal Pluto at least 8 times. Now that may not be so common for individuals. But that does appear to be relatively common for countries that have existed for even a short period of time.
Another way of looking at aspects of Uranus to Pluto of course is upsets/unexpected events (Uranus) affecting power, mostly hidden, but also visible (Pluto).
I would invite comments on these astrological topics of this article.
“the populace expressing their displeasure at the status quo and the authorities’ inability to get a grip”
I think Marjorie had mentioned the possibility of riots in the UK in 2026-27 in an earlier post (I’m afraid I can’t recall which one) and I have the awful feeling that they may be race riots (I have lived through one when I was at school and it was very unpleasant).
I think the current government having values totally at variance with the populace on both immigration and crime and tying their own hands with treaties and laws, and with its hands being tied on finance by external markets, is not helping the government/Pluto at all.
I am not smug abut America vs the USA. Free speech in England is not a given and despite claims otherwise, racism is unfortunately alive in both countries. Also both have their problems and if you compare England vs the USA chart there are a lot of similarities there. Plus I still have family in England and visit at least twice a year.
And I’m sorry – I aways thought the King/Queen and whole monarchy thing a joke and yes we do have similar in America but only slightly more subtle. And to deny poverty in England is not rampant -like the USA – is ignoring what is going on in Britain.
Are you sorry Anne? I think it’s insulting to Marjorie to use her website to demean her country and its Head of State. She is gracious enough to provide a forum for comments. It would be good if they were related to her astrology topics ….and polite.
@Anne, please don’t apologise for your personal opinion. I believe too, that the idea and existence of a monarchy is completely pointless and upsettingly antidemocratic in this day and age. What you can still observe in England is that people have been conditioned not to question this institution because the people´s identity is intertwined through first-class PR, they refrain from critical thinking towards it and do not even realise that this also restricts occasionally their freedom of speech. One only has to remember how members of the organisation “Republic” were removed on the day of the coronation. I am looking forward to this new Aquarian era.
Reality check:our constitutional hereditary monarch is a national figurehead with no political power. The democratically elected President of the USA seems able to override the Constitution and even demolish part of the White House. When I ask anti-monarchists who they would nominate for President in the U.K. I never get an answer. There are other more appropriate forums for this discussion.
One, single lone male, almost certainly unwell.
And one of his INNOCENT VICTIMS arrested.
That tells you that this is about the breakdown of infrastructure ie lack of competence, diminishing of practical support for police training and mental health services.
Breakdown of knowledge and communication.
Thanks for another intriguing post, Marjorie. I had never thought of comparisons with the Ireland and the troubles – that’s fascinating.
Well said Caroline and Linda
I feel completely safe here in the UK, though I wouldn’t go walking in strong flag festooned areas. Nigel Farage, along with Musk & others, is trying to destabilise the country & the government. What’s his chart like for the future?
Well, you’d best keep away from our gentle, happy, friendly little village Victoria, as it is cheerfully festooned in flags right now – mainly St George and Union flags, but also the German flag of our lovely publicans and the French and Belgian flags of our delightful neighbours. Why that would make anyone feel unsafe is a mystery to me, but I suppose it takes all sorts.
I’m not a flag person in any shape or form but feel compelled to point out for accuracy that the Union Jack/St George’s flag raising has been in reaction to other flags, Palestine’s in particular, flourishing untouched in some parts of the country.
Well said, Sandra.
I lived in Britain for 3 years right before COVID and still have family there. No much has changed and the poverty and racism is just as bad there as it is in the USA. Plus the monarchy is a joke. The royals finally kicked Andrew out when they could no longer justify his or Fergies actions. Plus they collect over a million dollars apiece a year while many people are barely getting by.
I am not surprised by the indiscriminate violence happening now and if you look at England’s chart there is definitely a revolution brewing there too.
It is also groups (Uranus/Aquarius) of people being attacked. Not just individuals. The UK’s Solar Arc chart has its Sun/Moon midpoint on the Nodes axis. Could it have been a revenge attack for a past event?
Well, Anne, it’s a good thing we still have Free Speech here in the U.K. so you can air your opinions. Accurate or not!
Being poor in the UK is very much different to being poor in the USA. And our racism problem doesn’t compare to the centuries of racism in America. And if we really had a problem with racism, there would be no problems with illegal migrants, because real racists would don the white hood and turn our English Channel red. And that just isn’t happening. And as for the royal family, in the overall scheme of things, they aren’t that expensive and given what has happened to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, it is likely to get even cheaper. And as experience goes, I spent nearly the first 18 years of my life in the USA and over 50 years here in the UK. So I think my experience trumps yours. It takes more than 3 years to get to know a people and their country. And given the problems in your own country, you have far less to be smug about and should be far more worried. But that is just my opinion. The UK is of course not perfect, but no country is. But I think it is a far more civilised country and a far more welcoming country. And as generosity goes – no country is more generous! And I am glad to be British!
Well said Linda.
Very well said Linda.
Anne, I disagree with your poverty and racism assertions here.
