Justin Trudeau – swatting away awkward questions

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is embroiled in a rancorous scandal about a government decision to hand control over the $912 million Canada Student Service Grant Program to a WE Charity in which his family is involved. Members of his family were evidently paid nearly $300,000 over the last four years to speak at WE Charity events. The Canadian Finance Minister Morneau’s daughter works at the organization. Neither recused themselves from the decision to award the contract.

There are odd indications of crisis on his Solar Return with a reputation-damaging Saturn Pluto on the Midheaven for 2020; and a change of direction through the 2021 Solar Return; plus the recent Lunar Eclipse was opposition his Solar Arc Midheaven for another serious challenge to his direction. But he may well survive to limp on with tr Uranus square his Mars/Jupiter midpoint and his Solar Arc Jupiter now till September and again in 2021, when he also picks up the lucky tr Uranus opposition his Jupiter/Pluto midpoint. Though he’ll also acquire the tr Neptune square his Jupiter from late March 2021 into early 2022 which suggests bubble-bursting and high hopes dashed.

His 2nd term chart, 20 November 2019 12.30pm Ottawa, CA, has a lucky Jupiter in the 10th though also an explosive 8th house Mars opposition Uranus and a lacklustre and evasive Neptune on the Ascendant. This chart will get rattled as will his own by the December 2020 Sagittarius Eclipse so it won’t be a straightforward run.  Over-confidence could trip him up.

  1. Thanks Marjorie. This “family” scandal prompted me to look at Justin T’s parents’ charts. His mother and father both have a Moon with Jupiter opposite Uranus, as he does. His late PM father Pierre (18 October 1919) has a Leo Moon and Jupiter opposite a Uranus in Aquarius. His mother Margaret (10 September 1948), who is an advocate for bipolar people and an author, has a Sagittarius Moon and Jupiter with Uranus at 0 Cancer. Margaret was quite a “wild child”, rather beautiful, and the marriage didn’t last. She’s been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, hence her advocacy work.

Justin has his Aries Moon trine Jupiter, opposing Uranus in Libra. Both parents have a Mercury aspecting Neptune. That Moon, Jupiter, Uranus pattern could be unconventional and keen to embrace change, yet nervous tensions and erratic emotions/behaviour could bring criticism from the public. This family pattern seems destined to always provoke controversy and tend towards bypassing or ignoring “the rules” at some level.

  2. Thanks for allowing the occasional knee-jerk ranting in the comments, Marjorie. It certainly opens my eyes to the absurd twists and turns of my fellow readers’ inner workings.

  3. As always, thank you Marjorie!

In this year of the Black Lives Matter reckoning, I believe it has dawned on Justin Trudeau what a terrible, divisive and RACIST thing he did when he created his highly symbolic first cabinet. All attention was on his making his cabinet half-female “because it’s 2015!”. No one in Canada’s media bothered to note that Trudeau didn’t include a single Black MP from his caucus (out of a population of 1.5 million Canadians) or MP of East Asian descent (out of a population of over three million) yet he boasted repeatedly that “I have more Sikhs in my cabinet than the prime minister of India!” Four out of 30 of Trudeau’s cabinet came from just 500,000 Sikh Canadians. Sikh Bardish Chagger is a woman with half the qualifications of Black Celina Caesar-Chavannes (who has since left politics) but guess who got into cabinet? It is not racist to notice racism, and not anti-Sikh to point out unfair favouritism of Sikh Canadians by Justin Trudeau because it’s an invitation to resent this minority religious group. Trudeau had to have acted on a cavalier, “I’ll get you next time” attitude to East Asian and Black Liberal MPs and to have callously ignored the hurt felt in these communities by his snubbing. There’s a theory that Trudeau plays favourites with Sikhs because he believes members of that minority had an outsize part in getting him elected leader of the Liberal Party. Yet personal gratitude shouldn’t outweigh his duty to govern Canadians of all colours fairly. I truly think his racism makes him morally unfit to rule Canada.

  4. First thought is that he seems to be following the rule of thumb, even if not exact, that ‘if Trump can do it, I can do it too’.

    • well… I have to chime in here.
Yes, this is another “gaff” by Justin Trudeau, however, I do not think it originates from the same place as Trump. I’ll step in and defend him now!!

Trudeau has a strong Neptune (conj Mercury (conj Jupiter), all in Sag; and opp Saturn in 10th; and Mars in Pisces in 7th. “Slippery” to me. Lots of promises.
That Mercury/Jupiter/Saturn connection jives with Obama’s chart and Trudeau has tried to model himself after Obama for sure. Both use a “grandness” in how they talk, Obama much more successfully!.. but it can sound contrived for sure. Both have hidden aspects, Trudeau’s Moon in the 8th and Obama’s Mars in the 8th. Still… both good people I would say.

Pluto in the 2nd offers a path of redefining one’s values.. especially as separate from one’s family of origin. Trudeau seems to have been destined for public office (Saturn in 10th), and also somewhat groomed with an expectation for this because of his father, Pierre.
Add in the Capricorn Sun… another path of discovering one’s integrity (I’m married to one!)….

And my sense of Trudeau is this….he is, in a very public way, working at finding out who the heck HE really is, what his values are, where his integrity lies. And, like all of us, we find that out by making bumbling choices in what we say and do. However…We get to do that in private!!

He came to the PM office just around the time of his Uranus opposition, so truly is working out his Adult Justin on the public stage. I have to say that, for the first time, he seemed the most authentic during the past months of the COVID virus.

For now, he’s one of the best leaders in the world. Partly because I do think he has it in him to grow into his integrity, but also because he has some really good people around him.

I am so bloody grateful to be living in Canada at this time.

btw… Canada’s natal chart has Neptune a couple of degrees back of the Ascendant.
So his 2nd term natal chart connects with that. As a country, we must be learning something about this? (Neptune on an angle is so tricky… I have it on my MC and it’s been quite the Teacher for me!)

      all the best,

      • Thanks for clarifying and setting me straight. Now you put it that way with the astrology it all makes sense. Love Obama but …..! Anyway, I guess I subconsciously assigned this behavior to ‘don’t care’ Trump who is blatantly displaying such and likes to take all the credit for trail blazing.

      • Sandra, I think one of the main differences between Trudeau and Obama is where they come from. Trudeau was born into extreme priviledge. Obama’s maternal side he grew up with was not disadvantaged, but still firmly middle class. I agree with you that Trudeau is not a bad person – certainly not to the extend that, let’s say, Trump’s children are. But he has definitely have things come easy to him professionally, which has left him with all kinds of Neptunian “blindspots”. In that sense, there are shades of George W Bush – again, by all means a decent person, who however did some very stupid things as a young man and enabled War Crimes as POTUS. In a way, I think Trudeau could have become “Dubaya” if it wasn’t for a very different role Canada plays on World Stage.
