Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic – an example to uppity politicians

Not all politicians are rip-off merchants. The president of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, was a prominent fixture at the FIFA World Cup, wearing her team’s shirt and travelling at her own expense economy class to be there, often in the non-VIP stand. She was there for every match bar one when she had to attend the Nato summit. After the final between Croatia and France, she hugged every team member of both teams. OK so she’s up for re-election soon but still. She’s the head of state and Croatia’s chief representative at home and abroad, with executive and operational powers residing in the government.

Born 29 April 1968  in Rijeka, Croatia, she’s a Sun Mercury in Taurus; with her Mars (Moon) in Taurus opposition Neptune square Jupiter in Leo; and her Mars also trine Pluto Uranus in Virgo. Her strong Jupiter will give her vision and idealism and the ability to spearhead social movements. And with so many Fixed planets she’s certainly got endurance.

  1. An other nationalist Serb complaining. They dream of Great Serbia and try to steal other people’s land by ethnic cleansing and when they lose the wars (as they always do), than they call their victims all sorts of names and play a victim card. In the last 150 years, they caused 2 balkan wars, one world war, and the wars of 90-ties in former Yugoslavia. Yes, they were fascists named ustasha in 2nd world war. They were created in response to Serbian officials constantly killing Croats in the period between two world wars and the fascists movement in Europe where these people found exile. There were 20,000 of them at their peak in 1941-1945. At the same time, there were 100,000 Croatian anti-fascist fighting against them. Communist killed nearly all ustasha’s including their extended family (and any suspicious person or even communist they did not like because of their ethnicity) in the period between 1945 and 1948 and some numbers estimate between 60,000-350,000 Croats were murdered at that time. Past 1948, there were no ustasha’s left in former Yugoslavia, however Serbs would call that name anyone who would dare to be a Croat. Kolinda’s grandparents were all active participants of anti-fascists movement, so were mine. Marjorie, there is no reason to get involved into these types of discussions. Any croatian site you visit is trolled by people like this one with similar comments. Their job is to create history that is by their taste and that would justify trying to take over other people’s land again. If only they could use their energy to do something positive instead of planing the next (Balkan or world) war and spreading hate. Peace and love.

  2. Goran, not having lived in your part of the world and have not experienced what you have, can you kindly explain your statement?

    • Ushtashe was a Croatian fascist, racist, ultranationalist and terrorist organization, active, in its original form, between 1929 and 1945. Its members murdered hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, and Roma as well as political dissidents in Yugoslavia during World War II. Basically pro-Nazi and remnants still survive (ggogle)
The Economist: ‘Croatian football is the last bastion of “Tudjmanite institutions”, by which he means that it is dominated by strongmen, riddled with nepotism and corrupt. The biggest strongmen of them all was Zdravko Mamic, a former head of Dinamo Zagreb and vice-president of the Croatian Football Federation. He helped finance the election of Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Croatia’s president.’
Ah well, she smiles well for her picture.
